Daily Duties at Ibm:
Maintained and provided Field Service Support covering a 2 state area. This included Point of Sale equipment troubleshooting, repair and installation for 4690 and 4680 products in a retail and grocery environment. Clients supported included Harris Teeter, Dillards, Limited Stores, Belk Department Stores, Kroger and others. • Provided installation and support of the IBM 4690 platform to include hardware repair and diagnosing operating system errors that could not be corrected by hardware field service technicians. • Developed a training program for field personnel using 468x and 469x platforms on machine setup for field technicians on how to gain experience and confidence on machine set-ups with customers. • Traveled and trained 20 to 30 field personnel in the NC and SC regions resulting in less downtime and less costly education expenses. • Managed local projects and upgrades for various customers within the region resulting in a seamless operation. For example: upgraded Winn Dixie Stores equipment nationwide and managed the trouble and question phone call center for the operation. • Managed local projects and upgrades for various customers within the region resulting in a seamless operation. • Provided onsite support for field services technician by identifying and resolving problems with key clients. • Possess an understanding and basic knowledge of supermarket and retail applications as well as customer requirements to have their system up and running while open for business.
