Daily Duties at Polk County Mental Health Center:
Supervise all treatment staff. Manage and "encourage" alternative treatment modalities. I did revise the entire medical record system requiring more accountability and more importantly devise a treatment approach that "wiped-out" the existing waiting list. I provided the leadership to respond to patient needs not to the "when we get to you on the list" mentality. Gave many months of lectures to non-medical staff concerning psychopharmacology, neurology, and provided an understanding that allowed the therapist to "meet" the patient where they were. The new learned material allowed therapist to better communicate with local medical providers.
