Director for Grants and Programs, 1993 to 1998 Promoted to newly created position to attract funding and manage grants and programs. Directed international programs that trained foreign lawyers and visits by foreign scholars and professors. Collaborated with University administration in the management and development of proposals and programs. Served as immigration and tax expert. Supervised student assistants Key Contributions: • Increased funding from $100,000 to $1.2 million during tenure. Ensured fundraising mechanisms were in place and informed faculty about funding opportunities. Developed a system for generating interest from outside funding sources and programs. • Instituted exchange program that allowed lawyers from the U.S., Canada, and Mexico to experience foreign legal systems. Led consortium of nine law schools in developing the program. • Helped manage foreign exchange programs with the City University of Hong Kong, the Central European University, and University of Paris X (Nanterre). Ensured Hong Kong and Central European University participants were accommodated in the U.S. • Brought the school in compliance with Federal guidelines regarding foreign scholars. Developed procedures to ensure compliance with INS and IRS rules and regulations
