Daily Duties at Bechtel Corporation:
In February of 2003 became a Technical Lead giving work guidance and training to six Planning and Integration personnel. Main responsibilities included the training, work guidance and support of these personnel. Prior to becoming a Technical Lead, work responsibilities included logical review and analysis of project resource loaded schedules and analyzed associated cost estimates. Other tasks included planning, developing and maintaining resource loaded scheduling, various earned value techniques and estimating, maintaining and analyzing all financial aspects of the program, approving purchase requisitions, and developing schedules related to control accounts, budgets and labor pools. Starting in March of 2000 was acting supervisor for three Planning and Project Control Site Area Departments executing the Plan of the Week/Day. Assisted in setting up the Operations Planning, Projects and Controls Department. Responsibilities included development, maintaining, and status of the daily Operations Department waste project schedules at the Radiological Waste Management Complex (RWMC). Analyzed resource loaded schedules, participated, directed, and trained in meetings referencing project daily and weekly planning, status, scheduling and resource loading. Focused on creating a world class implementation of Conduct of Operation principles, processes and procedures. Ensured that the eight guiding principles of Integrated Safety Management (ISM) were applied to all work planning, control and execution of activities. I acted as a positive spokesperson for Operational Excellence and its components of ISM, Conduct of Operations and Conduct of Maintenance. 1997 – September 1999 - Responsibilities included overall High-Speed Rail (HSR) programs schedule oversight, development of an automated and integrated program schedule. This required the logical review and analysis of project schedules that were developed by others. Other duties included development of schedules not having schedules previously and the identification project interrelationships for the total HSR Program. The total program schedule involved the integration of approximately seventy detailed project schedules. Regular interfaces with Amtrak project management, engineering, construction personnel, the Consortium, as well as various consultants working on the HSR program. The Amtrak HSR Program is the design and manufacturing of high speed trainsets and locomotives, rail electrification of the north end of the Northeast Corridor, design and construction of three maintenance facilities, seventeen railroad station upgrades and modifications, numerous track and infrastructure modifications.
