Daily Duties at Ibm Field Engineering:
Early IBM Experience: Progressed through early roles with IBM as a Customer Engineer (Unit Record to mainframe computers) in Pittsburgh, PA. Reliability, Availability, Serviceability Engineering (RAS), Product Engineering (development of 4700 banking system) in Kingston NY and Charlotte NC. Service Planning and Field Support leadership in Charlotte NC. Key highlights include oldest to newest: * One year assignment in RAS Engineering testing and assuring serviceability on 4700 banking product development. * Supervised Charlotte Field Support Center for all IBM’s banking products, overseeing and managing the performance of 65 employees and estimating call loads and resource needs to handle fluctuating work load. * Led US Service Planning for the last series of ATMs IBM produced, assuring serviceability / safety and estimating service cost. * As senior service planner, set up the OEM support center in Gaithersburg MD to enable the support of non-IBM products associated with IBM. Supervised two service planners and three temporary Customer Engineers.
