Daily Duties at My Accountant:
• Responsible for the case management of client accounts and tax related matters providing a value-added whole accounting service • Provide a friendly, responsive and comprehensive client accounting advisory service for example the tax implications of selling or buying a business • Manage the accurate and comprehensive preparation of individual and business tax returns (average 150+ per year) by guiding the client through tax checklist • Schedule and follow-up with clients to ensure they have submitted all relevant information in time for compilation, recording, generating and lodgement of monthly, quarterly and annual BAS and IAS • Reconcile bank statements and business general ledgers • Split and allocated expenses using MS Excel into cost centres as specified by client • Collate client accounts (invoices, receipts & statements) and verified data imported, data entry and client generated data in MYOB files • Manage the business’s office administration, staff supervision and training, tax refund recording and disbursements, accounts payable and receivable function • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of new requirements to compliant with taxation through research and reading of all tax related information/newsletters. Advise those clients whose tax matters may be affected by changes in tax laws, or reporting methodologies. • Liaise extensively with the ATO on behalf of clients tax assessments and liabilities
