Daily Duties at Starbucks Coffee Company:

• Variance analysis, trend analysis, and commentary on monthly results. • Production of relevant balance sheet reconciliations within month end deadlines. • Collaborating with the team members to consolidate various control accounts for monthly & quarterly review, and audit purposes. • Developing templates to support non-finance business partners understand and track their costs vs. forecast. • Developing various schedules and analysis templates to assist in-depth analysis of major cost structures such as support centre payroll costs and marketing spend. • Assisting/coach the newer members of the team with their initial learning of the systems and the processes. • Assisted Finance Manager with the systems change by taking control of some of the major control accounts to ensure smooth transition. • Worked on different organisational projects such as Conference and 10yr Anniversary to capture all the costs and control the spend. • Developing and trying new processes to assist smoother billing and payment processes between accounts payable and various departments. • Analysing cost and cash flow variances • Liaising with various support centre heads of dept to ensure accruals are captured and that costs are recorded in the correct cost centre. • Processing journal entries to ensure certain P&L lines accurately reflect retail and support centre operating expense activity for the month • Liaising with non-financial personnel: sales, marketing, payroll, HR, real estate, IT, operations and other departmental heads. • Partnering Operations, Payroll and Business Analysis team to discuss store P&L’s and respond to questions raised via management accounts inbox.
