Responsibilities include: installing, configuring, upgrading, performance tuning, monitoring, and securing over 150+ RDBMS SQL Servers; applying service packs & hot fixes via automation; problem & root cause analysis and resolutions, troubleshooting, and database recovery in conformance with SLAs; SQL Server replication, cluster, & link server setup; developing database upgrades, upsizing, migrations, merge, & filegroup strategies; streamlining & improving backup & recovery administration procedures; developed ETL routines; designing data load extraction and transformation routines using DTS / BCP / Bulk Copy; developing data purge routines; developing, debugging, and testing Transact SQL scripts for automated tasks and schedules; capacity / hardware planning; server consolidation & migration activities; problem & change management; index optimization & tuning; administer, maintain, develop, and implement policies and procedures for ensuring the security and integrity of development, UAT, Q/A, and production database environments; mentoring / coaching peers; participating in technical meetings.
