Daily Duties at Ibm Global Services (Ing):

Responsibilities include: administration and maintenance of multiple SQL database servers (100+); applying service packs / hot fixes; performance tuning, monitoring, installation, configuration, and health checks of RDBMS SQL Servers in a multi-instance clustered environment; problem & root cause analysis and resolutions, troubleshooting, and database recovery in conformance with SLAs; designing data load extraction and transformation routines using DTS / BCP / Bulk Copy; capacity / hardware planning; server consolidation & migration activities; SQL Server cluster, replication, link server setup ; database Disaster Recovery design, implementation, and testing; designing backup & recovery strategies; designing database maintenance plans; develop and implement data security guidelines in compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements; performance tuning and optimization of network / database application issues; developing, debugging, and testing Transact SQL scripts for automated tasks and schedules; problem & change management; assisting SQL developers & vendors with application installs.
