Responsibilities include: installing, configuring, upgrading, performance tuning, monitoring, and securing over 100+ SQL database servers in an active/active multi-instance clustered environment; problem & root cause analysis and resolutions; index tuning; data load extraction and transformation utilizing DTS; modifying DTS packages as dictated by the business; SSIS data import / export; performing backup & recovery strategies utilizing both native and RedGate SQL Backup compression tools; developing automated routines to perform database migration strategies; server consolidation & migration activities; designing database maintenance plans; implementing data security guidelines; problem & change management; capacity planning; SQL Server cluster, replication, & link server setup; Full-text search setup; MS Outlook & SQL Mail / Database Mail setup; assisting SQL developers with application installs; currently learning SQL Server 2005 Analysis Services, MDX Query, and Excel spreadsheet Data Analysis; mentoring / coaching peers; participating in technical meetings.
