Daily Duties at Covidien:
As Site Director I provided leadership and direction to four business units including the following: injection molding and extrusion, electronics final assembly and testing, labor-intensive assembly and in-circuit welding, all this in a vertically integrated state-of-the art operation with 4,000 employees, 600 suppliers, and an annual cost of production of $250 million USD. My major function is to drive behavioral and cultural change towards operational excellence, employee safety and continuous improvement mentality across the conversion process. Additionally, I moved the organization several levels up by implementing “Best in Class” quality improvement program focused in Operating, Quality and Management systems plus total Quality Culture. In addition I implemented the Management by Objectives methodology achieving outstanding results.
