Daily Duties at Data General Corporation:

I was involved and supported two lines of business while at Data General. I supported the Imaging Business Unit in developing imaging sales opportunities in the western region of the US, performing customer briefings, product updates, RFI/RFP development, and sales development. I also handled channel sales within US West Communications and its subsidiaries, selling hardware (servers and disk arrays) and various software solutions. Objectives: Build a sales support organization for Data General's Imaging products and service U.S. West by providing hardware and software solutions. Achievements: 1) Rolling out Data General's Imaging product to western US sales organization. 2) Sold over a $1M in servers, disk arrays and storage to U.S. West. Skills Used: Sales Support - Assisted salespeople in development of proposal material, RFP responses and client presentations. Communication - Presented a number of PowerPoint presentations for training and sales support. Presented to executive management organizational details as needed. Financial Analysis - Responsible for pricing of hardware and software configurations. Organizational Planning - Developed the sales support organization for Imaging product line. Assisted other groups in determining resources required for sales support.
