Daily Duties at Socom:
Senior Engineer IT Led Data Center Unit on multiple peace time military operations. Served in a selectively manned Special Operations joint position; monitored and installed necessary changes for JOPES and associated data bases on the WWMCCS mainframe and GCCS Sun Solaris LAN. Effecting Special Operational forces on a worldwide scale. Support included Special Operational forces in Bosnia, Somalia, Haiti and South American anti drug activities. Installed associated hardware and software, monitoring system performance and load, for the GCCS Sun Solaris LAN. Analyzed and corrected potential LAN/WAN problems. Performed daily UNIX System Administrator duties as necessary. Monitored all connected HUBS and port activity using SPECTRUM management software. Managed a Cisco routing Module and Cisco AGS+ router controlling security of network. Coordinated closely with outside organizations ensuring worldwide connectivity. Installed, configured, upgraded, and maintained Sun Sparc 5’s, and 20’s. Developed and initiated the command Deployed forces database, producing weekly directorate of Operations reporting to the Commander In Chief (General). Provided technical assistance and guidance to an excess of 2500 users worldwide. Directed all maintenance and personnel activities resulting in “Highest Readiness” rating (100%). Performed as Airborne Operations coordinator J6. Personal Computer repair technician.
