Daily Duties at Pacom:
Managed GCCS Data Center Team, 2 ea. Contractors, 2 ea. Civil service employees, 2 ea. military. Installed, configured, upgraded, and maintained Sun Sparc 5’s, 10’s, 20’s, Ultra Enterprise 2’s, Sun Sparc Server 1000’s, Sun Enterprise 5500 both with 1010/A1010 storage arrays. 1010/A1010 storage arrays utilize Volume Manager (Veritas). Monitored all connected HUBS and port activity using SPECTRUM management software. Managed a Cisco routing Module and Cisco AGS+ router controlling security of network. Planned, procured, installed and configured CISCO Fast Switched for 10/100 upgrade. Coordinated closely with outside organizations ensuring worldwide connectivity. Served as NCOIC (Manager) in a selectively manned joint position; monitored and installed necessary changes for JOPES and associated data bases on the WWMCCS (Honeywell H6000); Installed associated hardware and software, monitored system/network performance and load, for the GCCS Sun Solaris and NT LAN. Provided technical assistance and guidance to an excess of 1500 users worldwide. Personal Computer repair technician. (Win 98 and NT) Diagnosed and repaired defective parts in over 800 personal computers. Optimized performance by upgrading memory, hard drives, and motherboards. Performed daily UNIX and NT System Administrators duties as necessary. Analyzes and corrects potential LAN/WAN problems. Consults with customer to identify and specify all new Headquarters U.S. Pacific Command (HQ USPACOM) GCCS-J IT requirements for equipment and services. Documents, reviews, performs quality checks, and tracks GCCS-J IT requirements through Information Technology Requests (ITRs) and closely coordinating within various J6/J5/J4/J3/J2 and SOCPAC entities. Vast knowledge of phones, secure phones, Visual Briefing and Display Systems, audio video equipment, Video Tele-Conferencing, Defense Red Switch Network, and cabling. Knowledge of Automated Data Processing and IT solutions on various contract vehicles like the GCCS-J Contract, Government Services Administration and of applicable Service Level Agreements.
