Daily Duties at Hcl British Telecom:
• Managed business portal based application support function as the in-life guardian of British Telecom’s application while ensuring proactive and Right First Time (RFT) incident resolution. • Responsible for infrastructure implementation, deployment and support of technologies related to Microsoft server platforms & solutions. • Chaired technical conference calls on fault management, major incident interactions, Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and commensurate report discussions. • Worked on data extracts, log files for support investigations, and drove component specific changes and their closures within specified target time. • Operated with development/design teams for Service Improvement Plan (SIP) and release/deployment guide. • Tested deployment and roll-back processes for production deployment. • Applied emergency releases and patches to increase the component efficacy. • Maintained internal service level management process, component specific security procedures, and operated on BT Security audits. • Handled the responsibility of monitoring end-to-end (e2e) core business processes for the applications/systems by capturing normal flow interruptions; identified fixes through detailed analysis. • Employed techniques for 100% portal and application performance along with BT IP Address range calculations and their insertions into the data bases. • Point of contact for P1and P2 issues to analyze the issues and assign the tickets to middleware, database or development team as needed. • Mentored, assisted, and provided guidance to more junior members of the team. • Assisted the Netcool-ISM (Internet Service Monitoring) by providing input into infrastructure solution recommendations based on customer requirements and internal standards. • Assisted with configuration and implementation deployments. • Assisted in developing cost estimates, time lines, and work load for project solutions, as required. • Check application availability using application health monitor and business availability center and also help the monitoring team with inputs for adding new counters needed for application and server monitoring. • Served as member of the IT Infrastructure team; working in conjunction with other division managers and technicians to support the goals of the organization. • Provided Off-office hour on-call support.
