Daily Duties at United Healthcare:

Senior executive responsible for leading brand strategy, tactics and execution of all marketing communications initiatives. Lead all marketing and communications functions, overseeing a $20M budget and 23-member team with an additional dotted-line accountability for 18 field employees. Lead brand management, corporate positioning, product launches, advertising, public relations, sales collateral and tradeshow marketing. Selected Accomplishments: Developed and launched integrated, multi-channel print, television, radio, outdoor, Web and direct marketing campaigns that propelled Medicare sales from $7.9M (2006) to $31.6M by 2008 year-end. Increased direct mail response rate from .5% to 2.6% in 2007. Created real-time lead tracking system that allows for mid-campaign recalibration for maximum return on investment. Lead marketing and advertising initiatives in 28 states. Identified opportunities, researched new product possibilities, collaborated with field sales teams and created campaigns to consistently increase market share. Negotiated and obtained over $6M in free, value-added advertisement placement and sponsorships since 2007. Led all external and internal communications surrounding UnitedHealthcare’s acquisition of Unison Health Plan. Created Web portal to transform previously archaic intranet into a dynamic Website, improving communication flow and adding an effective sales tool for field representatives. Cut printing expenses by 23% by streamlining and simplifying national print procurement processes. Received 97% division satisfaction score on annual employee survey in 2009, 27% higher than company average.
