Daily Duties at Peabody Energy:

This role was very similar to the work I was doing early on at Kennecott/RTEA but I started most of the predictive programs there basically from scratch – except for the oil analysis program. Managed the predictive programs, the RCM team and the MineCare (real time equipment health monitoring system) systems and teams on site. Managed 8 full time MineCare Specialists and Technicians. Brought in the IR and Vibrational Analysis programs. Selected and hired a vibration analysis expert to work on our team. Purchased and started training team members in the use of UT systems. Selected equipment and started an in-house IR program. The oil Analysis program was is well-developed on-sight when I arrived. Managed two full time Oil Analysts and the proactive work they performed. Managed the implementation of Modular Mining’s MineCare system, got it up to speed and reliable (real time equipment health monitoring system). This included training and managing eight full time, around the clock, MineCare Specialists and Technicians. Responsible for the use and implementation of the MineCare system including the maintenance of the system and administration. Developed into the on-site trend building expert/data analysis expert. Managed and directed the work of the on-sight Electrical Engineer and Mechanical Engineer assigned to the Reliability Group. Put 18 months into a continuous improvement and RCM business improvement project the with the Ivara Corporation. Primary role is as the Core Team Leader (Project Manager). Core Team consisted of two full time Reliability technicians with an Operations background and one Reliability Technician with a Maintenance back ground. The Mechanical/Reliability engineer also worked on this team as the RCM expert/facilitator.

What they like about Peabody Energy:

The social vibrance of a hiring firm is very important to you. Your ability to make and maintain friendships there is a critical part of your decision. You would likely be dissatisfied with a workplace that is quiet, cold, or otherwise not particularly social. When you investigate a new hiring company, ask recruiters, managers, and potential co-workers about the social life and opportunities there. This is especially important when you are relocating; moving dramatically alters your social sphere both inside and outside the workplace.
