Daily Duties at Collin County Community College:

I serve as an adjunct professor at the Central Park Campus. Among the general requirements any teaching position might require, this position also mandates dedicated focus to treat the student as the valued customer. By treating each student as a customer, I can address two of the larger challenges in this position. First, the drop out rate for these students is high, so giving them something affable to return to each week is key in keeping them in school. Second, each student has different personality and learning needs, so I adapt instruction methods towards them, instead of requiring them to change their learning methods for me. In doing the above, I’m discovering that teaching and sales are similar in several exciting ways.

What they like about Collin County Community College:

A hiring company that offers alternative approaches to pay, performance bonuses, and/or equity in the firm is very attractive to you. You're generally less interested in working for an organization offering only traditional, salary-based compensation, one with limited opportunity to acquire equity in the firm, or one that does not actively promote skill development. In addition, you are more likely to choose a company that offers a variety of internal career options, with defined career paths. You view the learning of new skills and development of your expertise as key to your career advancement. These aspects of an organization may become even more important to you as you progress in your field, and are especially critical if you change career or occupation.
