Daily Duties at Town Of Davie:

• Managed and directed staff in all areas of recruitment for exempt and non-exempt staff, and public safety employees. Reduced vacancy rate for public safety employees from 20% to 0%. Evaluated applications, and results of background investigations. Verified validity of credentials and hiring documents. Implemented use of nationwide database for background search. • Administered Benefits for 600 plus employees. Conducted Open Enrollment sessions, reviewed all enrollment and changes to medical, dental, life insurance, and disability plans. Instructed employees in HIPPA compliance. Provided guidelines for dependent coverage and implemented documentation submission which resulted in reduced claims and negotiation for lower premium rates compared to nationwide increases. Responsible for FMLA, prepare correspondence and track usage. Paid Life, Short-term and Long-term disability invoices. Used account reconciliation information to balance accounts for payment of invoices. • Developed and administered examinations (written and oral) in competitive and promotional processes. Scored and developed eligibility lists. • Wrote policies and procedures for revision/submission by Human Resources Director and Town Administrator. Provided interpretation of contracts and personnel rules and regulations to employees and Directors. • Trained employees in tests development and administration using PowerPoint presentations.. Trained staff in HRIS utilization. • Developed job specifications and compensation for new titles. Researched jobs in industry and provided analysis to support recommendations. Wrote over fifty new and revised job descriptions and allocated appropriate compensation. • Use applicant and employee tracking database to prepare reports and do assessment of efficiency. Prepared monthly recruitment reports on number of applicants, testing information and status in the process to determine length of time in the process, and to improve process. • Chaired the Employees’ Recognition Program. Wrote By-Laws and prepared speech for Awardees and delivered same at Council Meetings. • Conducted New Employees Orientation.
