Daily Duties at Qwest Communications:
• Rebuilt, moved and configured PVCs and logical ports in Lucent Ascend switches • Troubleshot network/customer problems such as down circuits, latency, unsuccessful pings, packet errors/discards, etc. • Documented customer reported issues and troubleshooting solutions in Remedy trouble ticketing system • Performed stress pattern tests to Telco’s repeaters/DSODPs, OCUs, Smartjacks and or NIUs and customer’s CSU/DSU as well as Qwest’s equipment • Monitored the Network via Naviscore • Confirmed customer router configurations for correct DLCI and traffic shaping settings while diagnosing frame-relay problems • Use network management system’s SNMP trap logs to pull information on logical and physical ports based on predefined thresholds for traps and alarms set on circuits • Ensured paging and escalations procedures were followed for all major and minor events • Provide Technical and customer support for Frame-relay customers, ATM, T1 and T3 customers • Troubleshot DNS and Internet connectivity issues • Troubleshot proxy server, firewall, and NAT (Network Address Translation) issues • Assisted customers with Frame-relay traffic shaping and Frame-relay router configurations for correct dlci and PVCs • Interface with customer LAN/WAN administrators to assist in setting up various LAN configurations for internet access & router configurations
