Daily Duties at Pentagon Force Protection Agency:

Commander of the Support Services Branch of the Defense Protective Service; Responsible for management and oversight of support elements to the Law Enforcement and Security missions of DPS; Provide guidance and advise in meeting the objectives of the branch, Provide a strategic plan to include short and long range objectives which fits into the agencies mission statement and philosophy; Conduct needs assessments of the various agency elements and develop an action plan to perfect those determined requirements; Assure that the agency is in compliance with all Public Laws, regulations, and rules which affect the mission requirements; Act as liaison with Federal, state, local law enforcement and security agencies with the objective of enhanced agency performance and delivery of services; Effectively transmit the values, philosophy, policies, procedures and mission objectives to all elements of the organization; Analyze and review work processes and function and develop revisions as necessary to improve those programs and services (e.g. evidence facilities and procedures, training programs, streamlined recruitment process, fleet management program, accelerated disciplinary process, equipment requisition process, space allocation review, etc.) Develop of benefits packages to ensure stability of the workforce; Review, develop and/or update hiring standards and requirements with an implementation plan after conferring with the Chief; Provide the Chief with updates and options regarding those issues which impact the organizations ability to effectively deliver law enforcement and security services to the community; Establish and foster partnerships with other DoD elements which assist the organization in meeting mission requirements (e.g. Office of General Council, Resource Management, Labor Relations, Personnel and Security, Budget and Contracts, EEO, SPAD, Federal Facilities, etc.); Responsible for ensuring that an Anti-Terrorism plan is maintained and the logistical needs for an effective operational response to an WMD threat and/or incident are met; Responsible for a proactive approach to problem solving issues which affect the operational capabilities of the organization. Develop a team concept in addressing law enforcement and security issues with the stakeholders and those elements providing the desired service(s); Assure the organizations core values are embraced by members of the organization through training and professional development of the supervisory and leadership cadres of the organization.
