Daily Duties at Department Of Social Services:
Disability Evaluation Specialist III-1/1988-12/2000 As a Disability Evaluation Specialist III, I adjudicated Social Security and Social Security Disability Claims for adults and children to establish disability benefits. I received and reviewed documents for completeness. Communicated effectively with providers, patients, doctors, lawyers and other third party entities to secure medical and lay information. Managed a case load in a well-organized manageable manner. Conducted training for new Disability analyst. Acted as lead analyst for the unit. Assistanted Branch Training Coordinator-trained new staff and seasoned staff on claim adjudication and new policies and procedures. Reviewed reconsideration cases and cessation cases, within the unit. Operation Analysts (limited term), where I was responsible to helping staff with technical issues, wrote policies and procedures for processing disability claims, and trained staff on modified policies and procedures. Prepared training materials for staff at various levels. Prepared training courses for new and seasoned staff at various levels. Wrote and updated training manual.
