Daily Duties at Jacobs Engineering Group:
Projects: Rideout Memorial Hospital, Marysville CA. ($250 Million) new 6 story addition; Methodist Hospital, Elk Grove CA ($150 Million) new ED department and HVAC upgrade; & UC Davis Medical Hospital, 11th floor build out prenatal care unit Sacramento CA, ($37 Million). As the Project Manager my responsibilities were to plan, coordinate, direct and supervise personnel, subcontractors and vendors ensuring they complete work on time and within budget, for a multi-million dollar project, with safety, quality, integrity, and to the clients satisfaction. Manage a multi-disciplined team in the accomplishment of contract goals and objectives including responsibility for budget, staffing, and overall performance. Establish and maintain a Master Progress schedule, maintaining owner, architect, subcontractor and vendor relations. Maintain responsibility for policies/employee handbooks, and contracting requirements. Prepare budget and financial reports; maintain general contract and subcontract documents. Establish and monitor administrative procedures including billings, safety, labor relations, while keeping management informed of the progress of the project. Provide service to be the onsite personnel support to manage and oversee the contract. Act as primary and secondary local customer contact for project activities; liaise with customer to discuss contract changes/modifications, staffing, and Technical performance. Act as liaison among the customer, sub-contractor (as needed) in translating and fulfilling staffing requirements and changes/modifications of the contract. Monitor fulfillment of contract requirements to ensure quality and timeliness of services and deliverables. Develop and track additional requirements and contract modifications. Prepare project reports covering company operations and contract deliverables. Review project reports from employees and customer and brief upper management on the project’s progress. Through feedback and evaluations from customer and project personnel, refine and evaluate project policies, procedures, and manuals as necessary to continuously improve the effectiveness of the project. Coordinate subordinate employee recruitment, selection and training, performance assessment, work assignments, salary, and recognition/disciplinary actions. Understand company procedures for resource acquisition and support. Ensure lower level supervisors and personnel are complying with policies and procedures and handle discipline problems. Coordinate with appropriate vendors and organizations external to company and customer. Ensure all invoicing and accounting is completed. Ensure timely and cost effective performance of duties. Promote the highest degree of safety and ethics standards at operational sites. Direct the investigation and resolution of operational problems in conjunction with other management, technical and support personnel. Ensure the highest standards of compliance to all OSHA, State Department and Labor Department policies and guidelines.
