Daily Duties at Southern Research Institute:
Staff Physicist Some of the projects I worked on included: I performed chemical analysis of flue gas and particulate sizing of residual ash produced from high sulfur coal at a 10 MW fabric filter pilot plant. I performed research on oxygen compatibility of metals for use in oxygen centrifugal compressors for NASA and DOE. This was an outgrowth of the Apollo 1 fire. We discovered and confirmed the cause of this fire and suggested materials for future use in making these compressors.
