* Developed signal processing software and/or firmware functions (including new processing algorithms, as appropriate) that can serve as “company-standard” processing modules for Tyco Electronics’ next generation portable, mobile, and base station products; * Investigated new signal processing technologies (such as low power FPGAs) and signal processing algorithms that improve size, weight, power, and cost of portable radios; * Assisted the engineers of the System Technologies group as appropriate in a wide variety of other tasks including diagnosing radio SW and HW problems that emerge during product testing and in the field, and postulated ways that cognitive radio might benefit the public safety offering.
