Daily Duties at The Genlyte Group:
Assisted Audit Committee in its fiduciary responsibilities and ensured all requirements of charter were completed Prepared and updated risk assessments, annual audit and SOX testing plans, departmental budgets, and coordinated internal and outsourced resources to complete annual risk-based audit plans on time and within budget Directed the completion of financial audits, internal control audits, IT audits, and special projects Directed the execution of management's assessment of internal controls for SOX 404 and 302 compliance Reported results of all audits, including recommendations, to division and senior management, the Audit Committee, and the external auditors and followed up on all recommendations to ensure satisfactory remediation Presented results of audit activities vs. plan at quarterly Audit Committee meetings Hired, evaluated, managed, developed, and supervised the activities of three internal audit staff and utilized over 50 "temporary auditors" from throughout the Company's finance function to assist with audits Provided direct assistance to external auditors resulting in $92,000 reduction in audit fees Reviewed all SEC filings, 10-K’s, 10-Q’s and 8-K’s and recommended edits and changes
