Daily Duties at South West Improvement Council:
Hired to design a new home chore assistance program for low income seniors and to assist with developing new programs for a new community center in urban south west Denver, October 2007-May 2009. Utilizing only volunteers and a few community partners, the Handy Hearts Home Chore program was able to serve over 80 seniors in less than two years. In addition, I counseled neighborhood youth and elders in distress. Often, I was an ear and a safe harbor but if I could find appropriate resources I would. I also designed the organization’s website, taught fitness and computer classes and produced weekly newsletters; one adult and one youth edition.
