Daily Duties at Valspar Corporation:
Work in customer oriented environment cultivating solid relationships and growth for coatings/paint products within assigned territory. Interact daily with store personnel spanning all levels, from customer service associates to district manager. Focus on establishing, strengthening, and maintaining solid relationships with commercial customers by using preplanned sales calls. Use cold calling and prospecting skills to gain new business. Position self as a resource and strategic partner within Lowe's paint department. Support the attainment of department goals and adherence to budget requirements through continuous analysis of store data, including coordination of inventory controls and ordering. Manage and monitor product offerings/mix and merchandising displays. Plan, implement, and support on-going sales, marketing, and advertising initiatives, such as new product launches, special promotions, and product demonstrations. Administer formal and informal training sessions with store personnel to support accurate and solid product knowledge, sales techniques, and procedures, such as paint tinting and equipment operation. Address and resolve customer complaints or escalated issues. Key Achievements: Consistently met and exceeded challenging sales/revenue goals within assigned territory. My sales have been up nearly 10 percent in each of the last 3 years. Effectively analyze and translate customer needs and sales related information into meaningful solutions. Responsible for multiple process improvements resulting in improved efficiency and reduced cost. Received 100 percent customer satisfaction score on a random survey of major accounts in 2009.
