AVISTA is a $16M Division of Esterline Technologies an $800M holding company that provides safety-critical and mission-critical embedded software engineering services to the aerospace, avionics, defense and medical device markets. Director/Manager of Sales and Marketing Directed business development efforts of program managers and channel firms. Provided expertise on sales and marketing strategies to the senior management strategic planning team. Developed and implemented sales department policies and procedures. Maintained forecasts. Led identification, targeting and capture of major opportunities, and directly sold to key accounts. • Renewed relationships with past and existing customers and acquired new accounts, turning around sales from <$9M to >$16M in 2006 despite increased competition. • Personally closed new customer sales of $1.5M in 2002 while maintaining existing business of $8.5M. • Transferred management of accounts worth $3M to rep firms in order to focus on developing new business. • Secured Boeing and Lockheed as direct customers, growing business to $2M annually by 2006. • Worked with a marketing firm to create and implement a communication program that increased AVISTA credibility in the avionics market, driving penetration of high potential accounts, and cutting time from lead identification to sale from twelve months to three months on average. • Diversified the account base, reducing risk, so that the top three accounts never accounted for more than 30% of total sales while continuing to grow those accounts.
