Daily Duties at Mary Bridge Children's Hospital:

Placement/maintenace of peripheral intravenous lines on pediatric patients from newborn to 18 years of age Provided staff and family teaching and support throughout pediatric IV placement procedures Blood specimen collection from indwelling central venous catheter lumens, central venous access devices, venipuncture route for ordered lab tests Daily maintenance/assessments of intravenous and cental venous lines to include sterile dressing changes, treatment of central venous catheter lumen occlusions by instillation of anti-thrombolytic agents, accessing/deaccessing central venous access ports Responded to major traumas in the emergency department, medical codes, and rapid response calls throughout the hospital
