Daily Duties at Pratt & Whitney:

Powerplant Mechanic/Experimental - Work from drawings, sketches, and computer generated information and verbal instructions to plan, setup, operate, and adjust machinery and processing equipment to achieve dimensional integrity and required finishes for turbine engine parts. Work independently or with engineers to develop, improve and refine new or changed operations, methods and equipment. Edit programs, perform first piece runs and troubleshoot and situations that may arise. Utilize a variety of fixed and variable measuring instruments to check and verify dimensions. Perform datum part and tool plate functions. Use operation certification computer based systems to retrieve and store information and records.
