Daily Duties at Newell Recycling:
Manage operations functions for scrap metal recycling facilities in Augusta, GA and Allendale, SC. In this position, I managed change through downsizing, reduced costs and expenditures, helped increase material flow to the yard, increased process efficiencies through layout design, and met or exceeded shipping goals regularly. Serving as the site P&L manager for the largest company feeder yard, I managed facilities and equipment of $5 million, directed the work of 30 associates with five supervisors in two yard locations, reduced inventory discrepancies, and achieved excellent safety records. Selected Contributions: -Achieved quality shipments through the reduction/elimination of deductions and fines -Maximize profits through accurate purchasing and efficient inventory turns -Developed customer base providing excellent customer service and local marketing -Directed material processing for shipments by truck, rail, and export for internal/external customers
