Senior Accounting Specialist (2005-2009) Presided over reconciliation of general ledger accounts for national organization that advocated electric utility interests as well as member insurance and retirement benefits, representing 900+ cooperatives with 42+ million members. Compiled monthly balance sheets and income statements for Group Insurance Plan with $170M in benefit assets. Governed account postings and journal entries. Spearheaded all monthly income statement procedures. • Recovered $1.2M in lost revenue and boosted customer satisfaction by effectively pinpointing billing errors within new benefit administration system. • Facilitated increased utilization of credits through improved reporting accuracy. • Enabled 100% identification of Medicare Part D benefit and expense payments by ensuring accurate allocation and coding through efficient review of payment orders and support of vendor invoices. • Played a key role in addition of term insurance program and in updating general ledger with new accounts. • Introduced isolated reporting of Medicare Part D transactions by preserving accurate classification procedures and by educating managers on use of new account coding. • Slashed vendor discount collection time 30% and enhanced customer satisfaction by instructing staff on daily processing procedures and by functioning as technological development contact person with IT department.
