Daily Duties at Commonwealth Financial Network:

Quality Assurance / Software Testing • Serve as Lead QA Engineer during development life cycle and define manual and automated test strategy, develop test plans, process flow diagrams, use cases, establish testing environments as well as implement issue tracking and reporting. • Conduct multiple types of testing including functional, performance, load, regression, usability and security testing against 3-tier web based applications built in ASP.net as well as client/server applications. • Create XML files and import them into SQL databases to validate XML schema and data is being stored as expected. • Coordinate the implementation of a virtual QA Lab using VMware. This has allowed for testing different multiple browsers, operating systems (Windows, Vista, MAC OS X) and different versions of software. • Deploy Automation Anywhere to be able to automate repeatable tasks. Use network monitoring tools (TrueSight) to watch network traffic across servers as well as performance of web pages. Process Improvements • Institute best practices and consistency across application teams with the goal of reducing development costs, shortening release cycles and improving quality code. • Responsible for data integrity by creating advance queries in SQL to investigate anomalies within Commonwealth’s financial systems, investment accounting databases, and vendor data. • Review and provide advice on test case specifications, test plans, defect reports and setup/configuration issues. Business Development / Project Management • Oversaw implementation of a QA Team. Responsible for project staffing, professional development and mentoring staff. • Participate in design reviews to evaluate new features for thoroughness, ease of use and testability. • Serve as project manager on various projects and responsible for creating project plans, defining requirements, coordinating development and testing efforts as well as project release.
