Daily Duties at Codexis, Inc:
Developed and optimized synthetic methods and analytical techniques for characterize enzymatically generated compounds, chemically derived products and conversion using various spectrometric and chromatographic techniques including GC, HPLC, UV/VIS spectrophotometry, fluorescence and mass spectroscopy. Determined expression and catalytic activity of recombinant enzymes (from “lifted” and synthetic genes) cloned in E. Coli, yeast (Saccharomyces, kluyveromyces, and Pichia sp.) and insect cell lines (Sf9, Sf21 and High Five™). Served as Environmental Health Safety and Security Coordinator - in charge of providing a safe and effective workplace through the development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), emergency action plans, equipment operational guidelines and training.
