Daily Duties at Delphi:
Managed the shipping and receiving activity for a plant with 30 daily outgoing shipping windows and maintained a $6M purchase part inventory in the plant. Directed a workforce of 4 salary supervisors and 50 hourly employees. Coordinated the material handlers and production control activities and related areas including the warehouse, shipping activity, quality control and manufacturing. Responsible for identifying and leading lean manufacturing projects. • Decreased hourly workforce by 27% to keep manpower in line with production activity. • Established new standardized work procedures and audits for the salary and hourly employees resulting in a more disciplined method of job performance. • Achieved 100% compliance in meeting all shipping windows for 18 months straight. • Established and maintained a single point ordering of all expendable containers for the plant reducing Plant inventory on containers by $100,000.00. Prior to this each business unit ordered there own containers resulting in excess inventory.
