Contracted as full time W-2 company President with full P&L responsibility. Company was a privately held enterprise that designed, engineered, and manufactured well known and respected, branded high performance products. Product lines were mature, in declining markets, and company was struggling back after significant lay-offs. • Created a strategic plan to grow company, doubling in three years and tripling in five years. Initiated processes and systems to achieve and manage growth objectives. Evaluated two potential acquisitions. • Led company from an operating loss to achieve 26% EBITDA in 15 months. Increased sales 20% the first year; sales had declined more than 25% over the two previous years. • Developed and launched three totally new product lines and was launching a fourth. One line was company's most successful launch, accounting for 29% of total sales, and generating 46% net profit. Developed and launched second generation of this line. Introduced additional new products that expanded existing lines. • Recovery and direction of rejuvenated company was feature article in the Eastern Pennsylvania Business Journal. • Maintained profit level in second year despite very poor market conditions and eliminating 14% of overall sales in identified unprofitable OEM sectors. Initiated restructuring international distribution with exports to over 25 countries. Third year, produced revenues more than four times higher than industry average. Company was solidly in the black with profitability well above level at time of hire. • Coached and mentored successor (owner's son) to prepare him to assume company control.
