Daily Duties at Memphis Managed Care Corp.:
Management: Supervision of staff responsible for service, repair, maintenance and installation of all PCs, printers and network services as well as end user support and training. Trained personnel in the use of applications. Budget & purchasing of all hardware and software components on network, including telecommunication services. Evaluation of new software & computer systems. Project management over new computer systems installations. UNIX System Engineering & Administration: AIX 4.1 system (UNIX) on RS/6000 using TCP/IP protocols. Responsible for upgrade of OS and installation of all software products. Perl & shell scripting. Novell Network Engineering & Administration: Design and implementation of Novell 3.1x, 4.1x network with IPX/SPX protocol using NDS. Responsible for all network software installation & setup. Windows NT 4 Network Engineering & Administration: Installed Windows NT servers with Microsoft Exchange and SQL database. Installed, configured & maintained corporate WAN and Internet e-mail server using MS Exchange. Setup DNS for NT merging into NDS. Install and configure hardware/software LAN ape backup jukebox server using ArcServe 6. LAN & WAN Administration: Designed & setup Ethernet backbone switched system using 10BaseT and 100BaseT. Installed all cabling for category 5 compliant networks. Installed RAS (SHIVA) and fax servers on network system for use of staff at remote locations. Setup of two WAN sites. Setup UNIX & Novell servers at WAN sites connecting to T1 on frame relay. Configured Cisco routers using TCP/IP & IPX/SPX protocols. WEB Server Installation & Configuration: Developed Novell 4.11 WEB servers. Routed to Internet with a Cisco 2500 Router on a T1 through a frame relay cloud using PVC.
