Daily Duties at Paypal:
Directed all aspects of quality assurance and evolved the QA organization to deliver uncompromising quality while remaining agile. Drove evaluation and decisions on defect tracking, automation technologies and other tools. Reported directly to Vice President of Engineering and was personally responsible for setting and achieving aggressive quality improvement goals. Established black box, gray box, white box and automated testing teams and procedures. • Improved average pre-production bug find rate per QA engineer by 30% through area ownership initiatives. • Expanded the quality assurance team from 15 to 47 people, building a diverse and capable team of black box, white box and automation engineers. • Led the QA team through the rigors of preparing for an IPO, including demanding Sorbanes-Oxley (SOX) issues regarding compliance, documentation and auditing requirements. • Fostered a culture of respect and shared accountability through motivation, empowerment and defined roles that maximized individual’s talents and productivity.
