Served as the plastic molding operations controls engineer. Wrote equipment specifications. Evaluated purchased equipment prior to release for shipment. Supported the maintenance, production, and engineering groups as the technical expert in the area of plastics machinery control. Planned, designed, secured components, and supervised equipment modifications for the plastics molding operation. • Coordinated the design, modification, installation, and interface of over 60 robotic sprue pickers. • Interfaced quick mold change systems on Cincinnati Milacron Camac controlled bobbin machines. • Redesigned and implemented the floor interface to the FMSPM (Facilities Monitoring System for Plastics Molding) from discrete relays to Seriplex networked modules. • Retrofitted molding machines and vacuum material conveying systems from relay and solid state logic to PLC’s (programmable logic controllers). • Generated electrical prints, logic design, and operator interface for a new vertical, four station rotary dial injection molding machine, utilizing Texas Instruments control with turbomold plastics module and auto tune temperature control routine. Supplied prints to manufacturer in Autocad version 12. • Maintained backup programs and software for 147 molding machines and auxiliary equipment. • Trained and assisted all trades in diagnosing and repair of equipment. • Diagnosed plastics processing problems, and reduced machine cycle times.
