Daily Duties at Delphi:

Supervised and directed the daily activities of 40 skilled and non-skilled UAW (United Auto Workers) personnel in different functional areas. Generated and managed preventative maintenance programs and schedules. Provided and promoted a safe work environment. Investigated and implemented ideas for continuous improvement, scrap reduction, and cost avoidance. • Attained a cost avoidance savings of up to $1 M per month in the IRC (Internal Repair Center). • Integrated lean manufacturing principles in the surface mount feeder repair system, plant wide; eliminating downtime as a result of lack of repaired feeders in each department. • Implemented lean manufacturing and 5S principles in plant production support maintenance, truck shop, and internal repair center. • Coordinated plants downsizing consolidation activities, including; equipment relocation, disposals, and asset management. • Created a 300 page reference manual to assist production supervisors in functioning in their new roles as maintenance supervisors. • Recognized in 2009 ISO 14001 environmental management system recertification audits as having outstanding areas with no NCN’s (Non Conformance Notices). • Maintained a greater than 84 % operational effectiveness in all areas in 2007 with a 100% turnover in skilled personnel due to early retirement incentives. • Sustained a preventative maintenance compliance average of 93.99 %. • Surpassed recordable incident rate goals for nine complete years with no recordable accidents. • Achieved 100 % preventative maintenance compliance on five surface mount lines with no overtime.
