Daily Duties at Element Six:

•Responsible for liaising between consultants and various areas across the Shannon site •Appointed to coordinate various phases of ongoing LEAN projects on behalf of the consultants •Defined KPI’s in various production operations areas throughout the site •Collected and collated relevant Short Interval Control Data, analysing & reporting on trends •Developed flowcharts and graphs to highlight unusual trends or improved results as required Project Objectives: To reduce the cost base of Element Six Ltd (PCP Business Units) by in excess of $1.12million, on an annualised basis, through: •The implementation ‘Shop floor’ controls (Short Interval Control, Upgraded Management Systems and Process Improvements) across the PCP business unit •Delivering bottom line cost reductions and productivity / capacity improvements, to include the implementation of OEE as a key performance metric •Putting changes in place to enable ‘empowerment and ownership’ of production targets and KPI’s (Metrics) at a Supervisory and Operator level •Implementing systems that enable root-cause analysis to be carried out in conjunction with the 6 Sigma programme at the appropriate levels •Reviewing and upgrading the current production planning processes to positively impact upon velocity targets Project Deliverables: •A suite of Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) that drive performance across PCP business units, owned at the appropriate level (KPI Tree), including Productivity and OEE measures •The Implementation of “Short Interval Control” (SIC) across the business units at operator level to focus on throughput rate, availability and quality (OEE measure) •White Boards / SIC Review meetings and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) processes •An upgraded & sustainable “Management Control & Reporting System” ensuring the optimal flow of relevant information and decision making from shop floor to management levels •Daily / Weekly / Monthly Operating Reports and Production Reviews driving performance •Putting appropriate planning / forecasting mechanisms in place Improving maintenance/engineering interfaces with production to increase performance
