Projects: AN/ALQ 135, VIPER, Lightening. Prior repair and testing experience with the AN/ALQ-135 Band 1.5 and Band 3 LRU’s and High Voltage Power Supply and Modulators, Performs depot level maintenance and modifications as required by applying appropriate technical data requisitions, Performs alignments, overhauls, rebuilds, modifies, tests, fabricates, assembles and evaluates electronic subassemblies and troubleshoots to determine cause and remedy for malfunctions, Conducts complex engineering tests and detailed experimental testing as well as performing calibration checks on electronic instruments, Use electronic theory and test equipment, as well as schematics, diagrams, rough sketches and verbal instructions, visually examines portions of aircraft electronics (LRU’s and SRU’s) to check, test, and evaluate the condition of electrical components, equipment, and circuits, and to correct faulty or defective connections such as opens, shorts, and grounds, and to replace broken, discolored, or frayed wiring, Use hand tools and equipment such as hand and automatic and heat wire strippers, soldering equipment, wire cutters, heat guns, electric and pneumatic power tools, and other specialized tools of the electrical trade to work on aircraft electrical systems, As required, verifies and certifies work processes and procedures, Prepares records of actions taken and assures documentation is completed, Maintains a safe and clean work environment, Maintains and operates various types of test equipment such as digital and analog multi-meters, voltmeters, O-scopes, signal generators, spectrum analyzer, computerized automatic test equipment (ATE), Experienced in Radio Frequency Amplifier (RFA) troubleshooting and aligning, Performed some Control Oscillator (CO) Tests. Mandatory Knowledge includes: electronics and theory of transistors, solid-state components, integrated circuits, principles of frequency transmission and reception applying to radar, transmitter; ability to perform algebraic and trigonometric formulas to solve work related problems; interpreting technical orders, wiring diagrams and schematic drawings; concepts and application of maintenance directives; and proper handling, use and disposal of hazardous waste and material.
