HUTCHINSON TECHNOLOGY, Hutchinson, Minnesota ● 2005-2007 Tooling Supplier Quality Engineer: Functioned as liaison with national and local suppliers in purchasing and in problem solving of technical issues involved in drawings for the manufacture of hard drive suspension arms. Partnered in monitoring all quality issues and in conducting root cause analysis and resolution of quality problems. Collaborated in setting quality improvement goals and implementing Lean Manufacturing approaches for process improvements. Directed Quarterly Business Reviews. Documented processes and provided technical assistance in applying procedures to support gains. • Boosted suppliers’ acceptance rate from 70% to 90% through development of strategic relationships and strong cooperation skills. • Introduced quality plans to drive continuous improvement for purchased components and assemblies. • Wrote and catalogued Non-Conformance Reports for quality inspection of incoming Advanced GD&T tooling from suppliers. • Wrote daily Change Requests designed to improve quality, and promoted them through acceptance and approval
