Daily Duties at Bea Systems, Inc. :

• Actively provided system administration support for the engineering lab, which consisted of over 2000 machines consisting of 85% Linux and the rest Windows, AIX, SOLARIS and Non-Stop. • Developed Linux DNS/DHCP servers on for companywide IP control • Oversaw site and network security for LAN/WAN, liaising with security team and participating in development, testing, and rollouts of security upgrades, policies, and tracking of security problems and invalid use of IT assets • Directed and facilitated IT support for staff of over 1000 at New York, New Jersey, Virginia, Georgia, and Canada locations • Designated as site liaison serving as primary contact for IT projects, administration and maintenance • Acted as global IT liaison for site openings and relocations in role of project management team member delivering specifications to the various teams for electrical, cooling, and space requirements and spearheading site breakdown and site buildup for IT servers and network infrastructure • Actively provided configuration, installation, and administration of network infrastructure, desktop and telecom systems • Successfully installed/configured servers in all locations supported including 3 servers at each remote site and 15 at local site • Provided backup and restoration of all servers and desktops using Veritas NetBackup and storage servers • Wrote scripts in PERL and Shell. • Supported Apache, IIS servers • Effectively configured/tracked printer and server status at multiple sites • Carried out full installation of Cisco networks and cabling for routers, switches, hubs, and new workspaces • Designed and developed single windows image for all (DELL) models of laptops and workstations resulting in a 90% decrease in install and setup time • Provided 2nd- and 3rd-tier support for the helpdesk in North America and Asia
