Daily Duties at Innovative Communications Engineering (Ice):
Designed, developed, integrated, tested software features for Transformational Satellite Communications System (TSAT) program for DoD (Hybrid Switch / Sonet Backbone). The work was done in Linux and Green Hills Integrity environment using c/c++, Python, ACE Tao CORBA, RTI DDS, Green Hills MULTI debugger, HTML, XML, CSS, VectorCast, XILINX FPGA Power PC, ClearCase, CVS, SVN. Major Contributions • Developed an embedded Power PC web server using Light Weight IP for the Hybrid Switch on the XILINX FPGA Power PC. It is used extensively by different disciplines (software/hardware/test) to access devices (dump/modify registers), get stats, see alarms and logs. • Developed Graphical User Interface (GUI) to show reallocation of crosslink bandwidth between circuits and packets over a RF crosslink modem. • Provided Ethernet statistics through embedded web server, UPD interface, as well as CORBA interface. • Integrated software between several TSAT partners (Boeing, L3, GD, and Raytheon). • Designed and developed a finite state machine base class and a socket-based timer base class to be used by all TSAT partners. • Migrated code written in Linux environment (POSIX messaging) to an embedded environment on single-board computer running Green Hills Integrity OS. Converted POSIX messaging to RTI DDS (Data Distribution Service). • Designed and developed (XC2/XC3) XDR Circuit messaging between two PowerPC processors in XILINX Virtex FPGA on the Hybrid Switch. The work involved developing an embedded processor/HW shared memory design to pass critical configuration data (encoded/decoded messages with CRCs, FECs, and byte interleave) from the network to a satellite uplink/downlink data path. • Designed and developed performance monitoring, fault management, timers, syslog, and web server for the Sonet Backbone product. • Performed unit/regression tests using VectorCast. • Developed SLOC Metrics using Opensource sloccount and Python.
