Daily Duties at Auburn University Early Learning Center:

Responsible for planning, coordinating, implementing and assessing a developmentally appropriate curriculum that facilitates the cognitive, social, emotional and physical growth and development of each child. Assess children and maintain records. Follow the educational philosophy of the AU Early Learning Center. Plan, implement, and assess a daily curriculum to meet and exceed the National Association for the Education of Young Children standards in order to maintain accreditation Provide university student orientation at the beginning of each semester. Model developmentally appropriate practices for lab students in order to ensure proper interaction with children. Train staff members and lab students in the improvement and acquisition of skills and techniques necessary for working effectively with children, other staff members, parents, and members of the community. Observe student’s implementation of lesson plans and provide feedback in order to ensure successful transfer of skills. Supervise university students and staff in the classroom in order to maintain a safe environment for children. Perform routine administrative duties and support research approved by the Department of Human Development and Family Studies. Schedule work hours for lab students, maintain records and grades, and conference with students. Establish and pursue professional development, e.g., attend and present at workshops and conferences, develop programs for the AUELC, and write for publication. Proficient in Microsoft Office
