Daily Duties at Drexel University:
Design and Testing of a Low Noise Amplifier Feb 2008 • Verified stability conditions for the amplifier and determined the condition for maximum gain using ADS. • Plotted noise figure circles using standard parameters in the amplifier data sheet, hence finding a value of reflection coefficient, which provided reasonable gain with condition of low noise. • Designed the input-output impedance matching network to obtain this value of reflection co efficient, checked the fabricated circuit for desired gain and noise figure. Design and Realization of Phase Shifter Feb 2008 • Designed ideal schematics for branch Hi-Lo and switched delay line Phase shifters. • Generated realizable physical layout for micro-strip based delay line phase shifter taking into consideration physical parasitic and matched the ideal performance. Design of Filters Jan 2008 • Designed maximally flat and T – Chebychev filters for given frequency. • Converted filter to an equivalent transmission line model and generated a physical layout using ADS for a micro-strip transmission line with a FR4 substrate. Design and Optimization of Directional Couplers Nov 2007 • Designed and simulated ideal layouts for Branch line and Directional Couplers using ADS. • Generated physical layouts of micro-strip based branch line coupler and directional coupler • Observed and verified the optimized performance of above fabricated circuits using Agilent 8712ET Network Analyzer. Narrow Band Impedance Matching using Lumped and Distributed Element Oct 2007 • Modeled lumped and distributed impedance matching circuits with various loads using ADS. • Simulated these models in ideal conditions and optimized the performance in terms of maximum bandwidth, return loss and VSWR.
What they like about Drexel University:
Working for a company with an emphasis on social values and helping society is a clear and important priority for you - a critical factor in who you choose to work for. In contrast to other factors, you place an organization's reputation for fairness and concern for the community above most other aspects of the company. As you search for a new job opportunity, it is usually possible to find out if the company is involved in the community and/or if it is addressing problems and issues in society. Pay special attention to non-profit organizations and those specifically involved in social action. Moreover, speaking with current and former employees should enlighten you to perceptions of the fairness of the company's leaders and the treatment of employees.
