Daily Duties at Vicorp Restaurants Inc.:

3.1h IMPLEMENTATION: Converted contract price file history data from AS/400 to SAP Converted Vendor data from AS/400 to SAP Converted Garnishment data from AS/400 to the SAP system. Gathering information from clients, going through the files and determining what was needed per our clients Creating the BDC sessions to load the data properly. 4.6b UPGRADE: Responsible for converting all custom PP and some custom MM code for the 4.6b upgrade project. Modified code to comply with new syntax. Modified BDC’s to work with new screens Worked with the client to ensure no loss in functionality or performance. REPORTING: (PP) Production Planning: Wrote reports that extract and utilize data from the BOM, routing, production order, payroll and material master tables. Reports utilize drill down, multi-events, dynamic headers and other advanced reporting features. Worked directly with the VP’s of operations on some of these reports. In each I worked closely with my clients to ensure that the specifications were correct, these complex reports met all their needs. (MM) Material Management: Wrote reports that extract and utilize data from the asset tables, purchasing documents tables, and budget tables. Worked directly with the VP of construction on some of these reports. INTERFACES: Pricing information from our vendors Generating a price variance report for our purchasing dept., and moving these prices into SAP vendor pricing records These interfaces were critical as food pricing is VICORP’s single largest expense. Any incorrect pricing records could have potentially translated into large financial losses. CONVERSIONS: Designed multiple custom tables to handle pricing from our distributors, allowing our company to report on pricing for items added during the week or month. Wrote pricing differences and exception reports, which reported off these tables. The tables were further used for other purposes such as creating dialog programs for the users to add, delete and modify records from the custom tables as well as to create order guides for our restaurants. FUNCTION CALLS: Took initiative and created a function call to convert units of measure. Utilizing the material master tables this function converted packages, bundles etc., into their base UOM component number. I shared this function with my fellow developers and it is used throughout VICORP’s system in reports and interfaces. Created a function call for sending out reports to our restaurants via the Internet. Previously the company was running reports, printing them out and mailing them. After I took this initiative to utilize SAP’s e-mail functionality our restaurants could receive reports immediately. This real-time reporting allows each of our disjoint stores to manage their inventory on a regular basis and ensures accuracy. PRODUCTION SUPPORT: Supported production support for SD, MM, PP, FI/CO on an as needed basis.
