Daily Duties at Itt Space Systems Division:

• Responsible for packaging of high reliability space borne electronics. Perform thermal analysis, structural analysis, fatigue analysis. Local expert in low cycle solder fatigue. Perform failure analyses, write technical reports and presentations for the customer and present to customers at design reviews. • Worked with prime contractor to develop, define and document thermal interface requirements for a series of electro-optical payloads. • Worked with subcontractor to improve yield on ceramic multi-chip modules which were failing during temperature cycle testing. Identified and removed all unnecessary thermal shocking during part manufacture resulting in a 90% increase in part yield. • Responsible for definition of thermal tasks to be performed, training engineers to perform thermal analysis, write test plans, execute analyses and tests, and document technical work. • Developed thermal cycle / thermal-vacuum qualification flight test plan for large electro-optical payload. This payload utilized three separate temperature zones within one thermal vacuum test chamber. Designed test fixtures, defined thermal zones, established locations and quantities of telemetry points.
